To begin decompilation you have to select a file for parse first. You can use item Open program on menu File for that. VB Decompiler is supporting EXE/OCX/DLL files which was created in Visual Basic v5.0/v6.0 and Visual Studio.NET. In the latter case, a language of source code not matter, because VS.NET converts software written on any language into MS IL.
After opening file the decompiler checks if the program belongs to supported development environments. If the program was developed in unsupported environment (for example, Delphi or Visual C++) when VB Decompiler will display a message about problems of decompilation. If you will see this message then you may contact with us. Probably we can help you with decompilation for separate fee.
If programm is packed or protected then VB Decompiler will offer to unpack it. This feature supported in Win32 only and granted without any garanties. If unpacking is possible then file will be run, unpacked in memory, saved into HDD with another name and opened for decompilation. Important! Don't try to unpack by internal unpacker a malware or any other code which may make harm to your System because during unpacking the programm will run.
It is strictly forbidden try to decompile/unpack a software if you don't have any copyrights of it and copyright owner is prohibits by license decompilation and analysis of this file. It may be prohibited by law of your country.
